Spirit Untamed — Heads Up for Parents

Despite the light adventure tone, parents should be aware the film opens with a genuinely emotional reveal that Lucky's mother died in a horse-riding accident, which is why her father forbids her from riding — this may prompt questions from younger children about death.

About Spirit Untamed

Spirit Untamed follows Lucky, a spirited girl who moves to the frontier town of Miradero and forms a bond with a wild mustang named Spirit, despite her father's fears rooted in her mother's death. With her new friends Pru and Abigail, she embarks on a daring rescue mission when wranglers capture Spirit's herd to ship them away. It's an adventurous, heartfelt family film about courage, trust, and reconciling with family.

✅

Fine for kids to watch alone

The content is largely appropriate for solo viewing by children 5+, though the emotional reveal about Lucky's mother's death and the intense Ridge of Regret and train-rescue sequences are worth watching together with kids under 6 who may want to talk through the tense moments.
