Popcorn Check is a free, independent family movie guide. We keep the amount of information we collect deliberately small — there are no accounts and no personal profiles. This policy explains exactly what is collected, why, and what you can do about it.

1.What we collect

Popcorn Check has no user accounts and never asks for your name. We collect anonymous usage analytics through Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies to measure which pages are visited, the general location a visit came from, and the type of device used. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual visitors.

If you voluntarily submit an email address through one of our “notify me” forms, we store it solely to send you the notification you asked for. We do not sell, rent, or share those addresses with anyone, and we will delete your address on request.

2.Affiliate links

Popcorn Check is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

When you click an affiliate link, Amazon may set cookies on your device in order to attribute any resulting purchase. We earn a commission from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. Whether you use these links makes no difference to the content of our guides.

3.Third party data

Movie metadata — titles, posters, cast, runtime, and release data — is sourced from The Movie Database (TMDB). Streaming availability data is provided by JustWatch. These providers operate under their own privacy policies and terms, which govern any data they collect directly.

4.Children's privacy

Popcorn Check is intended for parents and guardians. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at hello@popcorncheck.com and we will delete it.

5.Your choices and requests

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google's browser add-on. Doing either will not affect your ability to use the site. For any question about your data, or to request deletion of an email address you have given us, contact hello@popcorncheck.com.

6.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site develops. Changes take effect when posted to this page, and the “last updated” date above will reflect the most recent revision. We recommend checking this page periodically.
