Ice Age — Heads Up for Parents

The lava cave sequence, where the ground collapses beneath the characters and a river of lava threatens them, is more intense than parents might expect from the film's comedic marketing.

About Ice Age

Ice Age is an animated adventure comedy set during the Ice Age, following a woolly mammoth, a sloth, and a saber-tooth tiger who reluctantly team up to return a human baby to its tribe. Along the way they are pursued by a pack of saber-tooth tigers, facing peril, humor, and themes of found family and redemption. The tone is largely comedic and adventurous with several tense chase and battle sequences.

✅

Fine for kids to watch alone

The content is largely comedic with mild action peril; the Half Peak battle and lava cave sequence are intense but resolve safely, making this appropriate for children 6+ to watch independently, though parents of very sensitive younger kids may want to watch alongside for the lava collapse scene.
