Pet Sematary — Heads Up for Parents

Despite being a horror film about a pet cemetery, parents should be aware the most traumatic content involves a young child — Gage is killed by a truck and then returns as a violent, murderous entity who kills Jud with a scalpel and attacks his own father, which may be especially distressing for parents of young children.

About Pet Sematary

A doctor named Louis Creed moves his family next to a pet cemetery that borders an ancient Micmac burial ground with the power to reanimate the dead — but whatever comes back is not the same. After tragedy strikes his family, Louis is tempted to use the burial ground's dark power, unleashing horrifying and violent consequences. This is a grim, unsettling horror film built around death, grief, and the price of trying to cheat both.

⚠️
Watch with your child
The heavy themes of child death, resurrection, and graphic violence — including Gage's death by truck and his later murderous return — combined with extreme language and disturbing imagery make this appropriate only for older teens (17+) with a parent present to discuss grief, loss, and the film's cautionary themes.
