The time dilation plot device means Buzz watches his best friend Alisha age, marry, have children, and eventually die while he remains young, which may be emotionally heavy for sensitive children.

About Lightyear

Lightyear is the origin story of the space ranger who inspired the Buzz Lightyear toy from Toy Story. After crash-landing on a hostile alien planet with his crew, Buzz spends years testing hyperspeed fuel formulas in an attempt to get everyone home, but each test flight causes time dilation that makes years pass for his friends while only minutes pass for him.

✅
Fine for kids to watch alone
Content is appropriate for children 6+ to watch independently, though younger kids may need help understanding the time travel concepts.
