Graphic & Disturbing
  • Colt performs numerous high-stakes stunts including being blown up and landing in a muddy puddle, a multi-rotation 'cannon roll' car stunt, and being set on fire for a burn stunt — all staged as movie-making but visually intense.
  • A fight breaks out at a karaoke bar involving Jean-Claude the dog attacking people amid the chaos.
  • Henry's dead body is discovered on ice at a hotel, establishing the murder mystery, though it is described rather than shown graphically.
  • The finale features a helicopter chase with pyrotechnics, Gail being shot and falling from the helicopter, and Tom Ryder being punched repeatedly during the climactic confrontation.
  • Overall tone is stylized, self-aware action-movie violence (much of it literally depicted as stunt work) rather than gritty or graphic brutality.

  • A scary sequence involves a citywide police manhunt for Colt as a murder suspect.
  • The boat explosion on Sydney Harbour is staged to look like Colt has died, and later Gail pulls a gun during the final confrontation — both surprising, tense moments.

Sexual Content
  • Colt has an ongoing crush on Jody, a camera operator, with flirtatious banter about spicy margaritas and swimming costumes.
  • There's a suggestive line where Colt tells Jody 'you look good in nothing,' and later they discuss a beach date in swimming costumes — implying attraction without depicting anything explicit.
  • Colt and Jody share an on-screen kiss during the final act, and the film ends with Colt's romantic confession: 'For what it's worth, I'm still in love with you.'
  • No sexual content is shown on screen.

Glorified or Abused
  • A character named Doone is depicted as a drug dealer, and Colt is unknowingly drugged at a nightclub, later experiencing hallucinations and 'seeing unicorns.'
  • Tom Ryder is described in dialogue as 'really drugged up and paranoid,' though this is a passing reference rather than shown use.
  • Casual alcohol drinking occurs at bar and karaoke scenes, alongside a lighthearted reference to 'pink elephants on parade' from Dumbo.
  • The drugging is shown negatively — as a source of danger and confusion for Colt — rather than glorified.

Overwhelming
  • Multiple intense, rapid-cut action sequences include the '8.5 roll' cannon stunt, a Sydney street car chase, and a fire burn stunt with real pyrotechnics.
  • The finale delivers an overwhelming sensory sequence: a 250-foot car jump over a ravine combined with a helicopter, explosions, and pyrotechnics.
  • A helicopter chase with mid-air confrontation adds another intense, high-energy set piece.
  • The film's pacing is largely fast and loud due to its stunt-heavy, action-comedy nature, which may overwhelm sensory-sensitive children, especially during the climax.

The Fall Guy — Heads Up for Parents

Despite its comedic, crowd-pleasing tone, the film includes a genuine murder mystery — Colt is unknowingly drugged at a nightclub, hallucinates 'seeing unicorns,' and is later framed for Henry's murder, which may be more unsettling than parents expect from a lighthearted stunt-comedy trailer.

About The Fall Guy

The Fall Guy follows Colt Seavers, a stuntman recovering from a career-ending injury, who is pulled back into the film industry to work on a big action movie starring the volatile actor Tom Ryder. When Ryder's stunt double Henry turns up dead and Colt is framed for the murder, he must team up with his ex-girlfriend Jody (now the film's director) to uncover the truth while dodging police and criminals — all set against a fun, self-aware, action-comedy backdrop celebrating stunt performers.

Younger teens (13-15) may benefit from a parent present to discuss the drugging/hallucination subplot and the frequent moderate-to-strong language (including 'shit' 18 times and 'bitch' 3 times), even though the overall tone is comedic and the violence is largely stylized stunt work.
